Thank you, John ElwayWhen I was a kid, maybe 10 years old, I had only one wish for my birthday - I just wanted a bike. My brother had a bike, and I just wanted to be able to explore the world and be the next Evil Knievel while doing crazy things alongside my older brother. Since I was a shy kid (hard to imagine I know) I didn’t ever get the courage to tell my parents that was what I wished for. I just waited and hoped and prayed that I would get my two-wheeled steed. My birthday came, and I didn’t think I would get my gift. I wanted it; I still hoped for it, but I thought I would get G.I Joes like I had the last few years (which I also loved, BTW). My hopes and expectations and what my parents would actually do were not likely to collide and bring me the joy that only a ten-year-old can feel. Party time came and since I didn’t see a bike in the living room I sat dejected with my head down and nearly in tears at the fact that I only had little gifts to unwrap and no bike. Of course, my wonderful parents then brought me outside to show me my new, gorgeous means of transportation. I was beyond words. I don’t think I even said thank you, I just jumped on the thing and rode off into the sunset, as happy as a person can be in this life. During this last weekend I felt like I was 10 again.I hoped and wished for Elway to have learned from his first few drafts where he picked highly talented guys with questionable character because they “fell in the draft.” I dreamed about a team that was built both around superior talent but also around leadership skills and a high locker room morality. I prayed that No. 7 would pick guys who love the game, who play football the right way and most importantly that they be people who want to go to work as Broncos. As the first round rolled on (2 a.m. in Germany) and the Broncos traded their #10 pick for some extra picks later in the draft, my head dropped like ten-year-old Kevin and my dream for the big gift was squashed, since apparently I would only receive a few more smaller gifts instead of the big one that I had hoped for. Then, they drafted Noah Fant at No. 20.Fant is a guy that we have talked about before and is a perfect fit with this team both right now and in the future. In the Scangarello offense and with Joe Flacco at QB, I truly believe that this Iowa alum could be a top-five tight end as a rookie. Maybe Fant himself wasn’t the full bike, but he was one of the wheels.I went to bed Friday night (sorry Peyton Manning Jersey , couldn’t do two straight all-nighters) with real hope blooming in my heart after they had gotten a great player at No. 20 and had added pieces to bring in more impactful talent. Now, the questions was, what would they do with those extra picks? Would they be able to use them well enough to make the trade back worth it? When I woke up, the questions were answered and I wasn’t disappointed.Elway had managed to draft a local beast of an offensive lineman who was often mocked to go in the first round. Dalton Risner is a tough, very high-character guy who claims that he would rather have been picked by the Broncos at #41 than any other team in the first round. That’s awesome. My bike had it’s second wheel. I started to feel giddy like a school boy and then I saw what they had done with the very next pick in the second round.Drew Lock, the QB that was very often predicted to go at No. 10 to the Broncos, had fallen and Elway wasn’t going to let go of a guy who he valued highly as a gunslinger - just not as a first round talent - so he picked him with the 42nd pick in the draft. He landed his guy who could become a franchise player at a position in the draft that brings zero pressure to Lock or the Broncos. If he pans out, great. If not, not big deal. They hadn’t given up too much and they had landed a highly touted passer that has all the skills but needs to learn the more intricate parts of playing the toughest position in sports. Great pick. Super value, no pressure and monstrous potential. The bike was whole. Shining in all it’s glory. The rest of the draft was just extra finery to add on to what the Germans call a “Fahrrad.” My joy was complete. All of my wishes had been granted. The Broncos had drafted high-character players that are the BPA and fill a position of need. They picked players that will immediately impact the team but also have the potential to be the building blocks of a decade long run of greatness. Though I forgot to thank my parents, I can thank John Elway. I want to thank him for bringing in players that we can be proud of putting on the orange and blue. Ambassadors to the sport and to our city of Denver. I want to thank him for adding great talent and apparently spreading rumors like a cool headed boss that made other teams make mistakes (ala NYG) that eventually helped our team. Most importantly I want to thank him for giving this team a direction and a character that we can get behind and feel excited about. The 2019 Denver Broncos draft picks WANT to play for the Denver Broncos and I for one am overjoyed that they are part of our team and can’t wait to see them on the field this September and for many years to come! Also, for my next birthday, I would love a bike. (Thanks, mom and dad!) CARSON, Calif. (AP) — Denver had lost six of their last seven going into Sunday’s game against Los Angeles, but Chargers coach Anthony Lynn kept warning everyone that the Broncos were dangerous because they had been in most of their games until the final minute.Lynn’s words became prophetic as Brandon McManus kicked a last-second 34-yard field goal to give the Broncos a 23-22 win and snap the Chargers’ six-game winning streak.“We’ve been in four or five of these games and didn’t make enough plays to win. Today we didn’t hope to win, we made plays to win,” Denver coach Vance Joseph said.Article continues below ...Denver got the ball at its own 8 with 1:51 remaining, and Case Keenum orchestrated a seven-play, 76-yard drive. Keenum, who was 19 of 32 for 205 yards John Elway Jersey , completed five passes for 86 yards during the drive, including a 30-yarder to Courtland Sutton to the Denver 16. Keenum then spiked the ball and McManus’ kick split the uprights. It was McManus’ second game-winning field goal this season and the fifth of his career. It also helped erase memories of two weeks ago, when his 51-yard attempt went wide right as time expired in a 19-17 loss to Houston.“I think we’ve had three or four close ones that have come down to it and Brandon has made those kicks and we trust him,” Keenum said. “It feels good. A lot better than the alternative.”Wide receiver Keenan Allen, who had nine receptions for 89 yards and a TD, succinctly summed up why the Chargers (7-3) lost when he said, “Penalties. Turnovers. Not making plays at the end of the game.”Philip Rivers, who threw for 401 yards, had two interceptions and Los Angeles committed 14 penalties, including 10 in the first half. Mike Badgley, who made three field goals, also missed an extra point that ended up looming large.“Those are things we’ve stayed away from — penalties and turnovers — but they showed up today. For whatever reason, I don’t know. We’ll figure it out, though,” coach Anthony Lynn said.Denver’s talented rookie offensive trio of Phillip Lindsay, Royce Freeman and Sutton had big games.Lindsay had 11 carries for 79 yards with two touchdowns. His 41-yard TD run early in the second quarter, which put Denver up 7-6, was set up the play before when the Broncos successfully executed a fake punt with punter Colby Waldman throwing a 12-yard pass to fullback Andy Janovich for a first down. It was the second straight week the Chargers allowed a fake punt. The undrafted rookie also had a 2-yard TD on a direct snap early in the fourth quarter to give Denver a 20-19 lead.“We knew that going in that they were physical and athletic, but for us, we just went out there and knew we needed to be physical, too Ronald Leary Jersey ,” Lindsay said. “We knew that we were going to have run the ball in order for us to win this game.”Freeman, who missed two games with an ankle injury, had seven carries for 23 yards, including a 3-yard touchdown to bring the Broncos within 19-14.Three plays earlier, Von Miller swung momentum back in Denver’s favor when he picked off Rivers on a screen pass and returned it 40 yards to the Chargers’ 18. It was Miller’s first interception in a regular-season game since 2012.“The interception turned the game around, to me. That spun the whole game,” Rivers said. “It was about to be a blowout, and he made that play, and then it’s a touchdown and then all of a sudden he made it a game.”Sutton tied a career high with 78 yards on three catches.Rivers, who had his 11th 400-yard passing game, completed 28 of 43, but it was the seventh time the Chargers have lost when he has passed for over 400.The 15-year veteran became the sixth quarterback in league history to throw at least two touchdown passes in each of his team’s first 10 games to start a season. He eluded the blitz and threw a 4-yard pass to a wide-open Allen late in the second quarter to put Los Angeles on top 13-6. He then threw a 6-yard TD to Antonio Gates on the opening possession of the second half.Melvin Gordon had 158 yards from scrimmage (89 rushing, 69 receiving), marking the sixth straight game he has had 130 yards or more.MOMENTOUS SACKMiller’s sack of Rivers in the second quarter gave him 10 for the season, which allowed him to join Reggie White and DeMarcus Ware as the only players with 10 or more sacks in seven of their first eight seasons. He is also the fifth-fastest player to reach 100 career sacks among players who began their careers in 1982 or later.BOSA RETURNSChargers defensive end Joey Bosa made his season debut after missing the first nine games with a bone bruise to his left foot. The third-year lineman did not start but was in on pass-rushing situations.INJURIESChargers defensive tackle Corey Liuget was carted to the locker room with a knee injury during the second quarter. Lynn said it appears as if the eighth-year lineman might be out for the rest of the season, but the team will know more on Monday.Denver wide receiver DeSean Hamilton suffered a knee injury in the second quarter, and cornerback Bradley Roby was evaluated for a concussion in the fourth quarter.UP NEXTBroncos: Host the Pittsburgh Steelers next Sunday.Chargers: Host the Arizona Cardinals next Sunday.

After the first and third round selections tight end, running back and even safety were still positions of need to help the black-and-gold get to the next level in 2019. There have been numerous thoughts and debates regarding what the team will do on Day 3 of the NFL Draft. When the dust settled, the Steelers have selected Kentucky RB Benny Snell Jr, with their fourth round of the draft. For those who may not know much about Snell as a player, this is his overall breakdown of his game, per his NFL Draft Profile:The Pittsburgh Steelers’ draft needs in the remaining rounds of the draft now would be considered: Tight end, safety and outside linebacker among other positions. What do you think of the selection? Let us know by voting in the poll below and be sure to comment in the comment section below! Having failed to address their needs at safety via the draft, free agency currently offers the Steelers very few options."While the Pittsburgh Steelers may have addressed most of their keys needs during the 2019 NFL Draft, it would be fair to say that they still appear to be relatively light at safety. With just four players on the roster who have ever seen a snap at the professional level and two undrafted free agent currently representing the entire position group ahead of OTA’s, adding another veteran name to the mix might be a good idea.At this stage of the year in 2018 John Stallworth Jersey , the Steelers were preparing to start the offseason with free agent signings Morgan Burnett and Nat Berhe among the names competing for a roster spot with Sean Davis, Jordan Dangerfield, Malik Golden and rookies Terrell Edmunds and Marcus Allen. A year on and Pittsburgh has let both free agent signings leave, Golden was not re-signed and the only additions have been undrafted rookies Dravon Askew-Henry and P.J. Locke. A stagnant safety market left a number of viable options on the open market until well after the draft last year, but the same cannot be said of the current list of names still looking for a home in 2019. And if the Steelers have any hopes of upgrading their depth at the position ahead of training camp, barring a release elsewhere, there appears to be only two credible free agent safety candidates still available.Tre BostonShould Pittsburgh be willing to revisit a free agent they met with last year, they could yet add someone who has the skills to fill in at both safety positions if needed and the durability to suggest he will last a full season, unlike some of the options they tried in 2018. At only 26-years old, it is something of a surprise to see former Arizona Cardinals safety Tre Boston still without a team. The North Carolina product has started 38 games over the past three seasons for the Cardinals, Los Angeles Chargers and Carolina Panthers Jack Butler Jersey , recording a total of 211 tackles, 10 interceptions, 24 passes defended, two sacks and a forced fumble.Selected by the Panthers in the fourth-round of the 2014 NFL Draft , Boston was the 24th highest-graded safety in the league by Pro Football Focus last year, his overall grade of 74.1 the second highest score of his career to date. As per PFF, he allowed just 18 receptions on 30 targets for 189 yards and two touchdowns in 2018.Pro Football FocusSigned to a one-year deal worth $1.5 million by Arizona just before training camp last year, it is doubtful that Boston will command much more in 2019 having sat on the open market for so long once again. Open about his desire for a multi-year deal, the Steelers should be able to offer him a deal that matches his needs and still fits within their tight cap situation. Eric BerryIt is perhaps a sign of how weak the existing free agent market is at safety that a player who has managed just three games in the last two years is one of the only other credible option left at the position this offseason besides Boston, but the former Kansas City Chiefs standout was arguably one of the league’s best safeties when healthy. Aside from his currently level of fitness, perhaps the biggest obstacle to signing Eric Berry would be how much money he could reasonable expect to command. Anything too far above the league minimum would be difficult to accommodate Joe Greene Jersey , but it is hard to imagine the player who signed the largest contract ever given to a safety in 2017 will be prepared to discount himself that much. Having received just under $30 million from the Chiefs in the past two seasons alone, Berry could well consider sitting out the year if he cannot find the sort of money he is looking for. As a mentor to Davis and Edmunds, Berry could be invaluable, and if he was looking for a reserve role to ease himself back into football after missing most of 2017 and 2018, the Steelers could offer him the perfect situation. With Davis set to be a free agent in 2020, Berry could easily play himself into that job long-term as well. Berry last played a full season in 2016, recording 77 tackles, nine passes defensed, four interceptions and scoring twice. A season that received an overall grade of 89.9 from PFF. If the Steelers can get a fraction of the snaps he played at that level in 2019, the signing could be well worth it.

on TCU receiver Josh Doctson in 2016. He has not lived up to expectations.Doctson missed most of his rookie season with an Achilles’ injury D.J. Swearinger Jersey , and, in three seasons, he has made only 81 catches for 1,100 yards and eight touchdowns. That has Washington back in the receiver market.“I think when you look across this league at this particular time when you talk about a receiver basically what I think what we need and what we’ve talked about is what you call a ‘go-to guy,'” Washington senior vice president of player personnel Doug Williams said during his press conference. “That guy in tough times, no matter the situation, he’s going to be able to make plays for you — a tough guy who will go across the middle, a guy that will block for you, the guys that wants the football. I mean you don’t want to be all the way divas, but you want somebody who wants the football. If they don’t get it, you don’t want them in the press saying they didn’t throw me the football and you want them to be team players. I think we are looking for a guy that we know that when crunch times come, he’s going to be in the thick of it. I think that’s the most important thing.”This draft, though, might not hold a “go-to guy” that Williams and Washington covet. The team has featured a 1,000-yard receiver since 2016 when Pierre Garcon (1 Zach Brown Jersey ,041) and DeSean Jackson (1,005) both topped the mark. WASHINGTON (AP)Somehow, it was only after losing their top two running backs and two starting offensive linemen to season-ending injuries that the Washington Redskins found someone – Samaje Perine – to end a four-year drought of a player rushing for at least 100 yards in consecutive games. ”His vision has been good,” coach Jay Gruden said Friday about the rookie runner, ”and his decisiveness has been outstanding.” Perine gained exactly 100 yards on 24 carries in Washington’s 20-10 victory over the New York Giants on Thursday night. In the previous game, a loss at New Orleans, he ran for 117 yards on 23 carries. You have to go all the way back to Weeks 9 and 10 of the 2013 season to find someone topping 100 on the ground two games in a row for the Redskins: Alfred Morris. They’ll get a close-up look at Morris next week, when the Redskins play at his current team, the Dallas Cowboys in a matchup of NFC East rivals who are both 5-6. Perine, a fourth-round draft pick out of Oklahoma, got his chance to become a starter and carry the full load because Rob Kelley and Chris Thompson were put on injured reserve. Perine is suddenly Washington’s season leader in yards rushing with 427 – coincidentally, the same total he put up in one game for the Sooners against Kansas in 2014 to set a college football record. ”It’s an unfortunate situation,” Perine said Thursday about the injuries to his teammates, ”but I have to play for those guys, and that’s what I did tonight. I went out and I was thankful for them Matthew Ioannidis Jersey , and everything that they taught me in the short time I’ve been here.” He didn’t exactly get off to a terrific start against the Giants, gaining 3 yards on five carries in the first half. ”We just had to stay the course,” Perine said, ”and then things started going our way.” Gruden thinks it is not merely happenstance that the 5-foot-11, 236-pound Perine was more successful as the game proceeded. ”You can see that he gets better as the game goes on, so far, and that’s what’s been the most impressive,” Gruden said. ”I’ve liked the fact that after his 10th carry, he’s better than his first carry. And the 12th carry, he’s better than his 10th carry. He gets better and better.” And not exactly under ideal circumstances, either. Center Spencer Long and left guard Shawn Lauvao went on IR this week, and left tackle Trent Williams was absent, too, because of a painful right knee. With backup center Chase Roullier out with a broken right hand, third-stringer Tony Bergstrom got the start there. ”When you have a brand new center Ziggy Hood Jersey , and the left guard and left tackle haven’t played together at all, it’s not easy. But those guys did a nice job. It starts with Bergstrom, being able to come out there and make the calls, get people to the right people,” Gruden said. The coach also credited his runner. ”Samaje was decisive with his cuts,” Gruden said, ”and once he stuck his foot in the ground, he was rolling downhill, which really we were impressed with.” NOTES: Gruden said he has ”no idea right now” when TE Jordan Reed might return from a hamstring injury. He’s missed the last four games. ”The issue is, when he does come back, we’ve got to make sure he’s 100 percent so this thing doesn’t linger,” Gruden said. ”I don’t know if he’ll be back this week, the next week or four weeks.” … Gruden said he hopes that Williams can return to face Dallas. A ”major part” of why Williams sat out Thursday was that it was a short turnaround after playing last Sunday. ”It would be nice to have the same group one week to the next,” Gruden said about his offensive line. —

from a torn Achilles has passed a milestone.Sanders declared himself way ahead of schedule in his rehab last month and showed how far he’s come on Friday. Sanders shared video of himself running in cleats on a football field for the first time since getting hurt last December.“I’m proud of how I handled the process Shelby Harris Jersey ,” Sanders wrote. “I did no complaining or asking God why me. I merely said this all apart of my destiny. I endured the pain, I made the sacrifices and now I’m back running.”The Broncos didn’t add any wideouts in free agency to go with Sanders, Courtland Sutton, DaeSean Hamilton and Tim Patrick, but they did draft Juwann Winfree in the sixth round. The makeup of the group should leave Sanders with a major role on offense if all continues to be well with his Achilles. Duke head coach David Cutcliffe breaks down QBs on 1st & 10 on Orange and Blue 760"When Duke head coach David Cutcliffe joined Ryan Edwards, Andrew Mason and Steve Atwater on 1st and 10 on Orange and Blue 760 the first question on everyone’s mind was about QB prospect Daniel Jones.Cutcliffe is most famous for being the coach that worked with both Peyton and Eli Manning when they were in college. Jone’s has become Colby Wadman Jersey , “...a big, strong, fast man.” Perhaps the most telling statement about Jones that Cutcliffe gives is when he says, “he is one. He’s what you’re looking for.”Cutcliffe is a respected voice when it comes to quarterbacks. Peyton Manning worked with him throughout his career during the offseason. He knows arm talent, and sees Jones as a potential starter in the NFL. He certainly has his detractors, and Cutcliffe is surprised to see Jones not mentioned as a higher pick in all the mock drafts currently taking up space on my twitter feed.Listening to Cutcliffe Tramaine Brock Jersey , you can see why he is considered an expert on coaching quarterbacks. If the Broncos find themselves in a trade back scenario in the draft, he could be the target. Finding a QB to take over after the Joe Flacco era runs its course is hugely important. Whether Denver does that in this year’s draft or in a future draft remains to be seen.If it was in Cutcliffe’s hands, Jones would be high on John Elway’s list.

—Michigan inside linebacker Devin Bush—in the first round of the 2019 NFL Draft. But did they find their man? And was the price too high? That’s the thing about taking chances Isaiah Buggs Jersey 2019 , you never know unless you try."WhiteFanposts Fanshots Sections Latest NewsSteelers Film Room2018 NFL Draft AnalysisLatest NewsLatest NewsCommentary2019 NFL Draft AnalysisEDTShareTweetShareShareover the top?Heading into the first round of the 2019 NFL Draft on Thursday night, the popular opinion was that finding a suitable replacement for Ryan Shazier—a player who would make the defense faster from sideline to sideline and up the middle—was key to getting the Steelers where they needed to be. And that’s why it was so refreshing to see Pittsburgh, armed with the 20th overall selection and nine other draft picks, part with said 20th pick, a second-round pick from 2019 as well as a third-round pick from 2020 in-orderto move up 10 spots to take Michigan inside linebacker Devin Bush. Not only was it refreshing, it was exciting. It was exciting to see the Steelers act aggressively and get the man they think can be a difference maker. It remains to be seen if Bush will be that guy, of course. On paper, he certainly has the physical tools, big-time production and above the neck acumen to be the player the Steelers need in order to take their defense to the next level. Despite the excitement, despite the overall giddiness in Steeler Nation, it wasn’t surprising to read and hear comments from some fans who were concerned with what Pittsburgh had to part with in order to move up 10 slots. I get that. Believe me, all one has to do is research the ratings for Thursday night and the entire draft weekend to know how much fans enjoy the process and how much they covet draft picks. Yes, it is true Cheap Isaiah Buggs Jersey , if Bush doesn’t turn into a productive NFL player, this deal—the 20th overall selection in 2019, 52nd overall selection in 2019 and a third-pound pick in 2020—was a bad one. But you could have said the same thing had the Steelers stood pat at 20, and that player turned out to be a bust. Any first-round pick that fails to develop is a bad one. Any trade that doesn’t work out is a bad one. Any free agent signing that doesn’t pan out is a bad one. For that matter, any play call during an NFL game that doesn’t work is by definition a bad one. Again, when it comes to the parting of premium draft picks, there will always be buyer’s remorse with some fans—heck, maybe even with team executives. But as a long-time Pirates fan who has watched them hoard minor league prospects (minor league prospects are the baseball equivalent of nameless, faceless unused NFL draft picks) in lieu of parting with them in-order to acquire stud veterans who can help them win now, I liked what the Steelers did on Thursday.Yes, by giving away their second-round pick, the Steelers could be missing out on the next Le’Veon Bell, Stephon Tuitt or JuJu Smith-Schuster. But they could also be avoiding the next Limas Sweed Morgan Burnett Jersey , Mike Adams or Senquez Golson. In other words, there are no guarantees with second-round picks. And the way the team went about its aggressivenesswas very Steeler-like—very calculated, if you will. General manager Kevin Colbert went on record almost immediately—the Steelers Radio Network—and said the team absolutely would not have made this deal if it didn’t have two third-round (or Day 2) draft picks at its disposal. In other words, the Steelers were willing to pay, but they had a budgetthey weren’t willing to exceed. I’m sure the Steelers have entertained the thought of trading up in recent years, only to find that the price was just too steep. This year, the price was right. Many experts say the very best part of the 2019 NFL draft exists in the second and third rounds. That means there is great value to be had. It doesn’t necessarily mean there are can’t miss studs in those rounds.Obviously, there’s no such thing as a can’t miss stud in any part of the draft, but you certainly increase your odds of finding one the closer you get to the top of the first round. The Steelers have been criticized in the past for being conservative and just letting the draft board fall to them, a philosophy that has caused Pittsburgh to just miss out on some players who could have made a difference at positions of need—William Jackson III (2016); all three first-round inside linebacker prospects (2018), etc, etc. This time around, the Steelers took a proactive approach Mike Wagner Jersey , one that could bare some great fruit sooner rather than later. Did the Steelers finally find their answer at inside linebacker with the drafting of Devin Bush? Again, there are no guarantees, but at least nowthey have the opportunity to find out. To quote Wayne Gretzky: “You miss 100 percent of the shots you don’t take.” A Pittsburgh Steelers player winning player of the week honors has become something of a biweekly affair in 2018 after James Conner was named AFC Offensive Player of the Week on Wednesday for his efforts against the Cleveland Browns in Week 8.Conner rushed for 146 yards and 2 touchdowns from 24 carries on the day and added another 66 yards from 5 receptions. Not only was it his highest single game rushing total of the season, it was also his second best ever receiving total and the first time he recorded more than 200 scrimmage yards in a single game in his career. Having scored two touchdowns in each of his last three games, Conner has set a new record in Pittsburgh, achieving a feat the great Steelers running backs like Franco Harris and Jerome Bettis never managed to do. The Pittsburgh running back becomes the third Steelers player to win a weekly award in 2018. T.J. Watt has won defensive player of weeks honors twice this season, once in Week 1 and again in Week 5, while Ben Roethlisberger won the offensive award in Week 3. Much like they are for Watt, the Browns must already be Conner’s favorite team to play.Currently third in the NFL in rushing with 599-yards, Conner only sits behind Todd Gurley of the Los Angeles Rams (800) and Ezekiel Elliott of the Dallas Cowboys (619). He is also second in the league with nine rushing touchdowns behind Gurley (11). If he can maintain this pace throughout the remainder of the season, Conner would eclipse Le’Veon Bell’s career best rushing total with the Steelers of 1,361 yards.

His 2018 performance earned him consensus first team All American recognition and he was selected to play in the Reese’s Senior Bowl. At 6’8”, Parham looks like a man among boys in most of his film clips, evidencing a deceptive speed (4.67-4.75 40yd) Darrell Green Jersey , masked by his gazelle-like strides. His 38.5” vertical jump makes him an attractive red zone target and a persistent 50/50 threat. Given his slight frame, there’s speculation that, if he’s to make it at the NFL level, it will be as a large slot receiver, as opposed to a pure tight end.Even in the pros, however, it’s easy to imagine him being a mismatch with safeties as he goes over the middle.StrengthsGreat handsExcellent catch radiusRed zone weaponRidiculously tallDestroyed lesser competitionUses large frame to box out defendersWeaknessesNot built to be an in-line blockerAverage speedUnsophisticated route running abilityNot particularly strong for his sizeMay be a slot receiver at the NFL levelLet’s see his workHow He Would Fit On The RedskinsTwo of the three Redskins’ tight ends are aging and or excessively injury prone. The other one is still very much a work in progress and doesn’t look to be more than “just a guy.” The 2019 draft is the year that the Redskins should be looking to pick up several TEs both in the draft and as UDFAs. Parham projects as a late round pick with potentially a very high ceiling who could play both the slot and TE. Unfortunately, he doesn’t appear to have a lot of value in the context of special teams. However, with 36” arms Sammy Baugh Jersey , Parham has an unparalleled catch radius and the potential to be a quarterback’s best friend in the red zone. An injury that prevented Parham from playing at the Senior Bowl may help dampen his pre-draft exposure a bit, but make no mistake, he’s unlikely to be available after the final draft pick is made. Last year Washington drafted wide receiver Trey Quinn in the seventh round, and he showed promise in the preseason, but after a Week One ankle injury he ended up with just nine catches in the regular season. This year, much more is expected of him.Coach Jay Gruden says that after Jamison Crowder signed with the Jets, it’s on Quinn to take his place — and Gruden thinks Quinn can do that very well.“Obviously losing Crowder hurts, hurts quite a bit,” Gruden said. “But I’m ready to watch Trey Quinn jump in that slot role and dominate the position. I’m excited for him.”Told of Gruden’s comments Charley Taylor Jersey , Quinn said he was pleased to hear his coach has faith in him, but he knows he has a lot of work to do.“I’ve played two-and-a-half games, and that’s not enough to be a starting slot receiver. So I’m going to take this offseason pretty seriously,” Quinn said.Washington heads into the season with Colt McCoy or Case Keenum as quarterback. They’ll need all the help they can get, and if Quinn is as good as Gruden hopes, that would go a long way toward making Washington’s offense better than expected.

Last offseason P.J. Hall Jersey , the Eagles placed cornerback Daryl Worley on waivers after he was arrested less than a month after they acquired him. Worley cleared waivers, meaning no team in the league wanted him, even at a league-minimum salary. There was no market for him at all.The Raiders later signed him to a one-year deal, and he played fairly well for them last year — after serving a four-game suspension and before landing on injured reserve. But Worley did not play so well that it justifies the Raiders’ odd decision to put a second-round tender on him today.Worley is a restricted free agent, which means the Raiders just had to tender him for the right to match any offer he received, and get draft-pick compensation from a team that signed him if they chose not to match the offer. If the Raiders had put the original-round tender on Worley, they would have received a third-round draft pick from a team that signed him away. That would have been a great deal, a third-round pick for a player they got for free off waivers last year — and if they didn’t think it was a great deal, they could have just matched whatever offer Worley got. An original-round tender was all they had to put on Worley. But for some reason Johnny Townsend Jersey , the Raiders put a second-round tender on Worley. That means they’re going to have to pay him $1 million more this season than they would have had to pay him on an original-round tender. The only reason it makes an sense to tender him at the second-round level is if they thought some team would have signed him away at the lower tender. And it’s very, very hard to imagine that would have happened. The Raiders’ front office has made quite a few questionable decisions since Jon Gruden took over last year. This is another one. It’s great for Worley that he’ll make $1 million more than he otherwise would have, but it’s hard to understand why the Raiders, with so many holes at so many positions, were willing to throw away $1 million worth of cap space. Slowed by a sore knee, Aaron Rodgers picked up the pace behind center.Remarkably, the two-time NFL MVP was more effective against the Chicago Bears after returning from what initially looked like a serious injury. The hobbling quarterback threw three touchdown passes in the fourth quarter after returning from injury, and the Green Bay Packers overcame a 20-point deficit for a thrilling 24-23 win over the Bears on Sunday night.Rodgers connected with receiver Randall Cobb for a catch-and-run through the secondary for a 75-yard touchdown and the go-ahead score with 2:13 left in the game."You've seen it time and time again. That guy's a warrior," Cobb said.Rodgers was hurt in the second quarter after slipping to the turf while under pressure from linebacker Khalil Mack and defensive lineman Roy Robertson-Harris. The lineman landed on Rodgers Reggie Nelson Jersey , who grabbed the back of his left leg. He had ACL surgery on his left knee in college.Rodgers was carted back to the locker room. Doctors determined he did not suffer a major injury and cleared him to return in the second half. The Packers had to make a slight adjustment with their normally mobile quarterback limited to the pocket."Got to get the ball out. Can't be moving around a whole lot back there," Rodgers said. "And we did a good job mixing things up in the second half with some of our quicker-hitter stuff and actually some of our more vertical stuff, too."Rodgers also had touchdown passes to Geronimo Allison (39 yards) and Davante Adams (12 yards) in completing the rally from a 20-0 deficit with 9:14 to go in the third quarter.Rodgers finished 20 of 30 for 286 yards, including 17 of 23 for 273 yards in the second half."Obviously, that's a tough one for us. It stings," coach Matt Nagy said after his Bears debut.MACK ATTACK: A Chicago defense featuring newly acquired star linebacker Khalil Mack dominated until the third quarter. Mack had a 27-yard interception return for a touchdown against backup quarterback DeShone Kizer in the second. He had a strip-sack that led to another turnover. He had pressure in the backfield on a play in which Rodgers hurt his left knee. This from a player who missed the entire preseason. The Bears acquired Mack last week in a trade with the Oakland Raiders."I prepared all offseason for the first game of the season and I wanted to ... make an impact," Mack said. "But you want to win these games. That's the only thing on my mind. I hate losing."FAST START: An offensive-minded coach, Nagy had the aggressive Bears' offense pushing the Packers around the field in the first half. Mitchell Trubisky was 23 of 35 for 171 yards. He also ran for 32 yards on seven carries, including a 2-yard touchdown run in the first quarter. It turned out to be the only offensive touchdown the Bears would score all night. The Packers' defense Kolton Miller Jersey , in new coordinator Mike Pettine's first game, held the Bears to two field goals in the second half."You know we talked about finishing and we didn't do that," Nagy said.COMEBACK COMPLETE: Nick Perry sacked the Bears' Mitchell Trubisky on fourth-and-10 with 58 seconds to complete the comeback. It was memorable start to the Packers' 100th season. Sunday marked the first time in franchise history that the Packers won after trailing by 17-plus points entering the fourth quarter, according to the Elias Sports Bureau.MORE RODGERS: Packers coach Mike McCarthy said he was prepared to go with Kizer to start the second half until getting the word from the team doctor in the tunnel."His performance speaks for itself," McCarthy said.Rodgers said he knee was swollen after the game. The Packers plan to run more tests on their QB on Monday, though Rodgers seems very optimistic to about his availability for next week's game against Minnesota."No, I'm planning on playing," Rodgers said.OTHER DEBUTS: Chicago's Allen Robinson had four catches for 61 yards on seven targets in his debut as the Bears' top receiver. ... TE Jimmy Graham had two catches for eight yards on four targets after joining the Packers as a free agent in the offseason from the Seattle Seahawks.

What would it take for you to consider the Broncos draft a success? Can John find another Lindsay?Kirby Lee-USA TODAY SportsWhat would it take for you to consider this draft a success?Luke: Instant day 1 starter with 1st round pick. Improved special teamsScotty: Adding players who fit the scheme in an area of need and/or getting a QB of the future on the roster.Kevin: Bring in guys who aren’t idiots and who will help the culture of the locker room. It’s no secret that since PFM left the atmosphere hasn’t been the greatest. I think they are on their way to fixing that and another good draft would be a big boost to making a winning environment.Joe M: I like the strategy that has been used by the Broncos in the past - draft players who were their team’s leader in college. Also focus on guys who are smart, and durable. The approach of drafting a host of players who are injured and/or injury prone but have high upside has been a failed strategy. Let’s move away from that.Adam: The 2018 draft was Elway’s best (aside from drafting Von), but typically it takes a few seasons to truly evaluate a draft. If Denver can stick to the BPA approach, the draft will fall into place, and should work out. Reaching for players, or panic picking is a no-no.Ian St. Clair: Whatever Elway and the Broncos did in 2018, do it in 2019. That draft set the tone, so the expectation is (and better be) to have the same impact and value this year.Taylor: I think the Broncos hit on a smart strategy in the 2018 draft by, if I recall correctly, exclusively drafting 3 and 4 year college starters. The experience level of the rookies showed, translating itself into instant impact from the draft class. So to me a successful 2019 draft would start with heavily featuring the same strategy: 3 and 4 year starters, with wiggle room for BPA. Ian H: They’re certainly heading to the draft with needs, which usually sets you up for disaster. However, their needs: tight end, cornerback, tackle, inside linebacker, center, guard, safety, wide receiver, and quarterback. If they were to somehow address all of those needs I would define that as success: TE1, CB3, LT1, ILB2, C1, G1, SS1, WR4, & QB2.Hart: I’d like to see the Broncos come out of the draft by finding long-term starters at need positions like tight end and interior offensive line. I’d also like to see them find prospects with starting potential at every level of the defense. Sprinkle in another receiving threat (speed guy with return ability) and you have the makings of a quality draft.Laurie: What Chris said. If the 2019 draft follows the 2018 pattern - rookies able to contribute as starters because they earned the position - plus some depth/future starters at key positions in the next year and beyond Menelik Watson Jersey , that will be a draft that improves the team significantly and that’s all you can ask. In my Future Broncos series to date, I’ve covered several topics regarding the team’s future needs as well as some top prospects from the FBS and FCS to look out for in regard to the 2019 NFL Draft. There is still a lot to delve into prospect-wise, and while I usually don’t do mock drafts this early, the current state of the Denver Broncos who are bracing themselves for another cataclysmic season and wild forthcoming offseason filled with immense change prompted this week’s installment to be a mock draft. For this mock draft, I am using the order and pick selection courtesy of Tankathon. Further explanation on how the Broncos acquired the extra selections can be viewed here. Additionally, the team is not expected to receive any compensatory picks in this year’s draft, but here is a deeper look at the selections they possess.Broncos’ 2019 Draft Capital: 44th, 75th, 106th, 137th, 145th (via Minnesota Vikings), 168th, 199th, 223rd (via Los Angeles Rams)With the Broncos slated to pick thirteenth overall, this currently means they would miss out on top prospects such as Justin Herbert (QB, Oregon) and Greedy Williams (CB, LSU), who would undoubtedly be solutions the franchise needs at premier positions. Unfortunately, there are two teams ahead of Denver who will likely be in the market for a franchise quarterback: The New York Giants (currently holding the top selection) and perhaps the Oakland Raiders if John Gruden decides to move on from Derek Carr. That being said, I have not studied Drew Lock or Dwayne Haskins enough to feel comfortable slating them to Denver in the first round. This mock draft will only consist of the first three rounds, but at the end of discussing those three picks, I will outline where I think Denver should focus their handful of Day 3 selections. Without further adieu, here is my three-round Broncos’ mock draft.13th Overall: Devin White, ILB (Junior) — LSU Since I’m opting not to formulate a mega-trade that could somehow land the Broncos a franchise quarterback in the draft, I’m going to go with a difference-maker who is viewed as a top-tier player on the defensive side of the ball where the Broncos clearly need help.I’m doubtful the team elects to use their team-option to retain Brandon Marshall next season. Moreover, it’s quite clear Todd Davis isn’t a long-term solution at linebacker for the Broncos either. Even in a deep inside linebacker class (if juniors declare), that’s why I’m slating Lousiana State junior linebacker Devin White to Denver in the first round.Tremendous size, premier athleticism, tenacity, a non-stop motor and a penchant for creating game-changing turnovers are just some of the reasons why scouts are high on White Shelby Harris Jersey , who is coming off a tremendous sophomore campaign where he registered 133 tackles, 13.5 for loss, 4.5 sacks and 1 interception. He is also the Tigers’ key communicator on defense, often relaying plays in from the sidelines and helping his teammates with pre-snap adjustments and alignments — which speak to his high football IQ. He is also adept in coverage and most certainly has the ability to be a premier playing and three-down defender in the league. Missing out on a top-tier quarterback or cornerback in the first round will likely merit criticism in the comments section. However, acquiring a prospect of White’s caliber would be great for Denver. Without question, the duo of White and Josey Jewell would give the Broncos a formidable interior of their linebacker corps for years to come.44th Overall: Dalton Risner, OL (Senior) — Kansas StateGarett Bolles is struggling, Jared Veldheer hasn’t been able to stay healthy and is in the final year of his deal and the depth at the tackle spot for the Broncos is concerning to say the least. Even before the season started, I pegged this as one of the franchise’s biggest long-term needs and what has transpired to date reinforces that even more. That makes plugging in Kansas State offensive lineman Dalton Risner in the early second-round to the team a no-brain decision.Risner fits the leadership and team captain mold that the Broncos searched for in last year’s draft process and would provide the team with a plug-and-play starter at right tackle as a rookie. He has been a starter in every game since his redshirt freshman season where he played center, but the last three years have been at right tackle. Additionally, he is widely-regarded as one of the top pass-blocking tackles in this year’s draft — and showed that with an admirable performance earlier in the year against Mississippi State pass rusher Montez Sweat, who is likely a top selection in this year’s draft.I have a feeling Risner will be a draft riser and sneak into the later part of the first round, but with a few other prospects ranked higher than him at his position and the overall depth of this year’s draft class — him being available in the early second round isn’t out of the question.75th Overall: Iman Marshall, CB (Senior) — USCWith the up-and-down year Bradley Roby has had thus far, I’m not so certain he is going to be retained long-term with the team. He also recently switched agents, which signifies to me that he has his mind set on free agency. While Chris Harris Jr. is still playing at a high-level, he is getting up their in age and there is no doubt the team needs to bolster their secondary which has went from the No Fly Zone to the Frequent Fly Zone at a quick pace. Brendan Langley didn’t pan out and while Isaac Yiadom is getting more snaps than expected this year, they still need a future starter as the position. Enter USC senior cornerback Iman Marshall, who has the skills to be a starting corner in the National Football League for a long time.Back in 2015, he was considered one of, if not the best prep defenders in the entire nation and was ranked in the Top 10 nationally by most outlets. After being highly-sought after by most every major program in the country, the 6’1, 205 pound corner who runs a 4.45 forty-yard dash opted to stay local and commit to the University of Southern California. It was a great decision for him, as he has been a starter ever since his true freshman season and has cemented himself as one of the best corner prospects available in the 2019 NFL Draft.Marshall is a physical defensive back who uses his size, length and physicality to jam receivers at the line of scrimmage and excels in man coverage. He had one of his best games a few years ago when he snagged two interceptions off of current Arizona Cardinals quarterback Josh Rosen. One of the key judgment factors for me for any prospect is how well they play against top competition, and Marshall has proven his worth against a first-round player. To date, Marshall has racked up 125 tackles, 6 interceptions and 30 passes defended in 42 games as a starter. That’s big-time production in a conference known for slinging the ball around the field. After delving into several of his highlight tapes, he had issues being over-aggressive in coverage which has caused him to give up just as many big plays as he wracks up for the Trojans. That being said, his occasional lapses and coverage and discipline aren’t too big of a worry for me Colby Wadman Jersey , as those deficiencies can be corrected with proper coaching. If the Broncos were able to get a player of his caliber in the early third round, I’d be extremely satisfied. Day 3 Positional Considerations and ProspectsThe Broncos have all of their original selections in rounds four through seven, as well additional fifth and seventh round selections from trades this past offseason. Here are some of my thoughts for positions they should target, as well as a handful of prospects at each position. The defensive line depth in this year’s class is crazy, so I would feel comfortable with the Broncos getting an eventual replacement for Domata Peko here. The franchise could also use another tight end considering the injury history and lack of production from those currently on the roster. This is also a time in the draft where I would like to see Denver add another safety, with the fact that Darian Stewart may be a cap casualty after the season is over. The big question to me is what the Broncos do with Matt Paradis this offseason. If he gets extended, it’s not a major need by any means, but a prospect for depth purposes should be considered. Last but not least, the Broncos did draft Courtland Sutton and DaeSean Hamilton in this past draft, but if franchise opts to get rid of either Demaryius Thomas or Emmanuel Sanders, adding another weapon at receiver would be wise — it’s a deep class at the position.Day 3 defensive tackle prospects: Demarcus Christmas (Florida State), Dontavius Russell (Auburn), Olive Sagapolu (Wisconsin), Daylon Mack (Texas A&M), Raequan Williams (Michigan State)Day 3 tight end prospects: Tommy Sweeney (Boston College), Alize Mack (Notre Dame), Irv Smith Jr. (Alabama), Logan Parker (Southern Utah)Day 3 safety prospects: Andrew Wingard (Wyoming), J.R. Reed (Georgia), Tanner Muse (Clemson), Will Harris (Boston College), Evan Worthington (Colorado)Day 3 center prospects: Sam Mustipher (Notre Dame), Ryan Anderson (Wake Forest), Jesse Burkett (Stanford), Sean Krepsz (Nevada)Day 3 wide receiver prospects: Jaylen Smith (Louisville), Gary Jennings Jr. (West Virginia), Steven Sims Jr. (Kansas), Emmanuel Butler (Northern Arizona)Feel free to sound off in the comments section and give your own Broncos mock draft, as well as discussing other prospects and all scenarios you envision for the franchise next April.

of the presumed league deadline of Wednesday Rocky Bleier Jersey , the Steelers welcome two more names to team facilities on Monday."The Pittsburgh Steelers are close to having met with their limit of pre-draft visitors in 2019 after they hosted two more names in the Steel City on Monday, with Maryland running back Ty Johnson and Murray State linebacker Quincy Williams the latest to be welcomed to team facilities.Johnson amassed 2,635 yards from 348 carries and scored 17 rushing touchdowns in four season at Maryland and also recorded 29 receptions for 318 yards and two scores. He is a smart and savvy player who runs crisp, clean routes. He has excellent ball skills and reliable hands. He has impressive body control and can make the contested catches and almost never drops the ball.WeaknessesThe UC Davis product lacks some suddenness in his feet, and isn’t the most explosive athlete. He can struggle with maintaining top speed in traffic, and takes some time to work up to his second gear. There were concerns that he wasn’t very fast, but he ran a 4.4 at his Pro Day so he is plenty fast once he gets going. However, he does struggle to separate at the top of his routes, and his success came against lower-level competition.VerdictKeelan Doss has been a tremendously productive receiver for three seasons with the UC Davis Aggies, accumulating over 4,000 receiving yards and 28 TDs. He has all the traits and intangibles that one likes to see in a receiver prospect, and was considered a fifth-round draft prospect going into April. However, a pectoral injury suffered at the Combine not only kept him from doing all the receiver drills, it also likely knocked him out of the Draft entirely. The Raiders got a real steal here with a guy who should have been drafted early on the third day of the draft.Fit with RaidersOakland has addressed their WR position more than any other spot on their team. They have added guys like Antonio Brown, Tyrell Williams, JJ Nelson Derek Carr Jersey , Ryan Grant, and Hunter Renfrow. That’s not including some of the guys the Raiders added last year like Marcell Ateman and Saeed Blacknall. But Doss is better than several names on that list and as long as he performs well in camp he should be able to carve out a spot on the Raiders. The guy Doss reminds me of the most is Jordy Nelson, and the Raiders could always use a player like that who is still young.Watch Keelan Doss Highlights here The NFL was founded in 1920, which would make this the 100th Anniversary of the NFL. The league is planning a season-long celebration of its success and commitment to not knowing what a catch is, and part of that is the Games of the Week. Each week during the upcoming season, the NFL will designate one game its 100th Anniversary Game of the Week, and it will be a game with some historical significance to the history of the NFL. It may be a long-standing rivalry like Week 1’s game featuring the Packers vs. Bears or Week 10’s Falcons-Saints game or Week 14’s Browns vs. Bengals Battle of Ohio tilt. The Raiders have a total of three games on the NFL100 Game of the Week list, which is great, but is made doubly sweet because the Steelers don’t have any.The first NFL100 Game of the Week featuring the Raiders comes in Week 7, in which the Raiders travel to Lambeau Field in a rematch of Super Bowl 2. NFL.com says this:“Two of the league’s storied franchises met in Super Bowl II, which saw the Packers win a second straight championship by soundly defeating the Raiders, 33-14.”The Packers actually have another Game of the Week the following week when they go to Kansas City to rehash Super Bowl 1. Hopefully they trash the Chiefs this year too.In Week 12, the Raiders travel to New York for their second NFL100 game, taking on the Jets in a rematch of the Heidi Game which forever changed the rules of broadcasting. NFL.com says,“Perhaps a sign of the times, but what happened on Nov. 17, 1968, when the game was cut off on the East Coast to show the film “Heidi” isn’t likely to ever happen again.”And finally, the Raiders’ third NFL100 game takes place Week 16 in Los Angeles, where the Raiders will pay homage to the Holy Roller game, in which the Raiders used the fumble as an offensive weapon.“The Raiders and Chargers produced the “Holy Roller” game in 1978 and the result forever changed the NFL’s rule on an offense’s ability to advance recovered fumbles. In the contest, Raiders quarterback Ken Stabler avoided a sack by throwing the football forward towards the goal line. Running back Pete Banasnak touched the ball, then used both hands to shove the football forward. Tight end Dave Casper then recovered the football in the end zone to give the Raiders a 21-20 win.”I think this is a pretty cool idea by the league, which has had more than its share of huge games, big rivalries and revolutionary moments in its 100-year history. And hey, the Raiders won two of the three games they’re being honored for playing in in dramatic and totally improbable ways, so that’s a plus. So which of these three games do you think was most important in league history, and which is your favorite? Are there any other important Raider moments you would have liked to see included that involve teams on this year’s schedule?

on the practice field. He ended it on injured reserve.Sanders tore his Achilles early in practice. The Broncos have placed the receiver on injured reserve Garett Bolles Jersey , Mike Klis of Denver’s 9News reports. Denver needed the roster spot after claiming receiver Andre Holmes off waivers from the Bills.Sanders, 31, played all 12 games this season, making 71 catches for 868 yards and four touchdowns.鈥淚t鈥檚 like I鈥檝e said before: You don鈥檛 really replace guys,” Broncos quarterback Case Keenum told reporters Wednesday after Sanders’ injury. “Emmanuel, obviously one of the best guys I鈥檝e ever worked with. From what I knew about him coming in, seeing how he worked, how he handled himself and how he led, it鈥檚 surpassed all of my expectations by far and away. He鈥檚 an incredible guy. [But] I have all the trust in the world in those other guys.鈥漈he trade of Demaryius Thomas to Houston and the injury to Sanders opens up more opportunities for Courtland Sutton, DaeSean Hamilton and Tim Patrick, who have played in a combined 34 career games — all this season — and made a combined 37 receptions for 692 yards and four touchdowns. ENGLEWOOD, Colo. (AP) — Whoever replaces Vance Joseph as the Denver Broncos‘ fourth head coach in six seasons may not find a franchise quarterback awaiting him. What he will find is a roster packed with promise. The Broncos (6-10) had a terrific infusion of youth last season led by running back Phillip Lindsay , the first undrafted offensive rookie ever to earn a Pro Bowl berth, although wrist surgery will keep him from playing in the all-star game.General manager John Elway’s highly touted 2018 draft class features first-rounder Bradley Chubb, receivers DaeSean Hamilton and Courtland Sutton, linebacker Josey Jewell, running back Royce Freeman and cornerback Isaac Yiadom.NFL players typically make their biggest jump between their first and second seasons, so this group anticipates a big “leap year” in 2019, and they’re pledging to lead the franchise out of its three-year playoff drought, too.“Broncos country doesn’t have to worry about us going 6-10 again,” Sutton insisted. “Our core is going to be so strong and so tight, we’re going to show up and we’re going to go to work every single day DaeSean Hamilton Jersey , every week. And we’re not going to leave it up for chance in any games.”Chubb led all NFL rookies by collecting a dozen sacks, something he said was just an appetizer.“I’ll definitely make a bigger impact” next season, Chubb said, “whether it be in the run game, the pass game, whatever it takes.”With the middling Case Keenum at quarterback, the biggest personnel attraction for head coaching candidates is the league’s best pass-rushing duo of Chubb and Von Miller.“I’d like to think that I’m a coach’s dream,” Miller said. “We’ve got a lot of big-time players here. We’ve got Bradley Chubb, who’s coming into his second year.”The pair combined for 26½ sacks in their first season together.Star cornerback Chris Harris Jr., who is in line for a big contract extension this offseason, said he hopes the new coach injects some juice into the playbook so it can catch up to the likes of Patrick Mahomes in Kansas City, Baker Mayfield in Cleveland and Lamar Jackson in Baltimore.Harris said the Broncos have been stagnant since winning Super Bowl 50 three years ago on the strength of a historically good defense and they’ve watched other teams incorporate college game concepts and sweep right past them.“We kind of just stayed doing the same thing we’ve been doing since 2015,” Harris said. “It’s 2019 now. We’ve got to evolve. We can’t do the same thing. I’ve got to evolve my game. I can’t think I’m going to still play the same coverage and the way I played in 2015 or 2013. I have to evolve my game and we have to evolve, too.”He wants the new coaching staff to incorporate the RPO (run-pass option) philosophies on both offense and defense, and Elway is on board.“Yeah, no doubt, especially if you look at where the rules are going. The rules are getting shifted to the offensive side, too,” Elway said. “We’ve relied on our defense for a long time. I think that we’re still going to rely on the defense, but we definitely have to get better on the offensive side.”Aside from the arduous search for a franchise QB, the Broncos have an ongoing ownership squabble and a demanding general manager who wants a quick turnaround, mandates immediate results and won’t sign off on a slow rebuild “because that sounds like an excuse.”“I hate to lose Josey Jewell Jersey ,” Elway said . “I hate it more now than I ever have, and we’re going to do everything we can to get us back on track and get us winning football games and get back to competing for world championships.”Candidates will also see a rabid fan base that’s equally impatient, an organization with sparkling training facilities and three shiny Super Bowl trophies and a team with the wherewithal to make a big splash in free agency for the first time since Elway signed Aqib Talib, Emmanuel Sanders, DeMarcus Ware and T.J. Ward to Denver in 2014.The next hire will be the Broncos’ sixth coach in 12 years.“It’s a short leash for anyone that comes in,” cautioned linebacker Brandon Marshall. But still an attractive gig, linebacker Todd Davis said.“I don’t think there’s anywhere better in the NFL to coach,” Davis said. “I feel like it’s a big position that a lot of people want to fill.”Elway’s wish list includes a mix of experience and youth, offensive and defensive roots.Three candidates are around his age: former Colts head coach Chuck Pagano, 58; former Titans head coach and current Steelers O-line coach Mike Munchak, 58; and Bears defensive coordinator Vic Fangio, 60.Two others are in the mold of 32-year-old Rams coach Sean McVay, including his QBs coach, 35-year-old Zac Taylor, and Brian Flores, the 37-year-old de facto defensive coordinator for the Patriots.“We are going to try to find that guy with the ‘it’ factor, that can make those right decisions and also lead men,” Elway said. “We’re confident we can find that guy.”Because he sure doesn’t want to be doing this again anytime soon.“I hope that we can hire a guy that can be here for the next 10 years, 15 years,” Elway said.

Though primarily focused on season long PPR scoring, this advice can be used in other formats or for DFS consideration as well. Now for season long, most top starters should always be in your line-up even if they have a tougher match-up on paper so we won’t focus as much there. The one exception is at the quarterback position where there can be some value to streaming your QB even if you have a top tier guy. Also I will include a Thursday Night Football preview as well. Thursday Night Football:Colts: T.Y. Hilton, Marlon Mack and Jack Doyle remain out. This leaves a very weakened Colts offense on a short week road game, coming off an overtime game. It is not ideal as they could struggle to move the football, but the Colts passing game is still viable. Andrew Luck will likely throw 45-55 times in this game, versus a disappointing Patriots defense. Quality Plays: Andrew Luck, Eric EbronSolid Plays: Ryan Grant, Nyheim HinesDeep league/flyer plays: Chester Rogers, Zach PascalPatriots: It appears both Rob Gronkowski and Josh Gordon will end up playing tonight Dexter Manley Jersey , though both are listed as questionable. The Patriots offense has been frustratingly inconsistent this season, but they are coming off a big win and were able to stay home during this short week. Julian Edelman is back and expected to play a large role. James White remains highly involved in the offense and is a great option for PPR formats. Rookie RB Sony Michel should have a positive game script again this week, which could see him get a fair amount of usage. While playing Brady is obvious, this probably isn’t going to be a week where he goes off for a big game. I would be cautious about playing Gronkowski given that he may sit later in the game if the Patriots are up. Gordon is unlikely to play a significant role this game unless New England is down.Quality Plays: Tom Brady, Julian EdelmanSolid Plays: James White, Sony MichelDeep league/flyer plays: Chris Hogan, Philip DorsettAvoid if possible: Rob GronkowskiFull Fade: Josh GordonQuarterbacks:Quality Plays: Ben Roethlisberger, Matt Ryan, Drew Brees, Kirk Cousins, Philip Rivers, Blake Bortles-Big Ben and Ryan play in the game with the highest projected over/under and this game looks to be the best shoot-out of the week. Brees is coming off a bad game and the Redskins pass defense has been impressive so far, but Drew Brees at home is typically hard to contain. Add in the narrative of him going for the passing record in prime time and it’s hard to not like Brees. The Vikings offensive line can’t run the football and the Eagles defense excels at stopping the run. Cousins will need to throw 45-50 times versus an Eagles secondary that has been very suspect this season. Bortles has been up and down this year, but when he’s had big games they have been huge. Expect him to throw alot versus a poor Chiefs defense.Solid Plays: Patrick Mahomes, Derek Carr, Jared Goff, Cam Newton, Alex Smith, Matt Stafford-Mahomes typically will be in the top tier, but this is by far his toughest defensive test yet. I don’t think the Jaguars can stop him, but they might be able to contain him. Carr has started to string together some really good games and faces a Chargers secondary that is giving up some big plays each week. Goff should be in line for a good game, but his upside is likely limited as the Rams figure to be up this week and not in a shootout. Newton is always a good option at home and faces a Giants defense that is really struggling. Smith will likely need to match Brees score for score, so expect more passing attempts for the Redskins this week. Stafford is at home versus a Packers team that has allowed a couple big passing weeks already this season. The one concern with Stafford is that the Packers could really look to slow the game down with their running game.Guys to sit if possible: Aaron Rodgers, DeShaun Watson, Marcus Mariota-Rodgers just hasn’t looked himself since injuring his leg. While he’s playing well from a real football perspective, his fantasy production has taken a serious hit. Watson is always dangerous, but playing the Cowboys in likely a slower paced game will limit his fantasy upside. Also Cole Holcomb Washington Redskins Jersey , if Houston gets up in this game, Watson and the passing game may take a back seat. Mariota is coming off a huge game, but he’s still not 100%. The Titans should be able to dominate the Bills and that means it could be a 2nd half filled with hand-offs from the Titans.Running backs:Guys to play:James Connor- Connor has been disappointing the past few weeks, but he’s getting a ton of targets and the Falcons are getting destroyed by backs out of the backfield. Should be a bigbounce-back week.T.J. Yeldon- Yeldon should play this week for an injured Leonard Fournette, and see usage both running and receiving. The Chiefs defense is struggling to cover backs out of the backfield and is giving up big running plays just about every game. Matt Breida- The 49ers are at home and the Cardinals have been one of the worst teams versus the run so far this season. While Alfred Morris will get some work, Breida is clearly the better weapon in this offense and is getting more work.Joe Mixon- Mixon is back this week and on top of that it appears that Gio Bernard will sit this week, giving Mixon even more opportunities. The Bengals are home favorites and the Dolphins have struggled against the run this season.Guys to avoid:Devonta Freeman/Tevin Coleman: Both running backs should be healthy this week and likely that means a true split back-field situation. It’s tough to really know who will get the ball and in what situation. It’s possible in a high total game one of these backs hits, but it’s tough to feel confident about it.Dalvin Cook: As mentioned above the Vikings can’t run and the Eagles don’t let anyone run. Cook is still working back from an injury so he isn’t even likely to see added touches from the passing game. Just avoid this situation at all costs.Adrian Peterson: Peterson just isn’t likely to find a lot of success versus a Saints defense that is allowing just 3.2 yards per carry. This game also figures to be more of a shootout meaning Peterson will probably be on the bench a lot more in this game as Chris Thompson should see a bigger role.Others to avoid if you can: Jay Ajayi, Dion Lewis, Carlos Hyde, LeSean McCoyReceivers:Guys to play:Emmanuel Sanders- It’s been a rough couple of weeks for Sanders as Case Keenum has struggled of late, but this is a really good match-up for Sanders and one he could exploit for a huge game.Calvin Ridley- Eventually you will want to get off the Ridley train as he’s due for some negative touchdown regression and his usage isn’t near what Julio Jones sees, but this feels like another good game for the rookie. It’s a high total game and the Steelers secondary is getting destroyed through the air.Tyler Boyd- Boyd is getting more and more usage in the Bengals offense and has clearly established a connection with Andy Dalton. With Tyler Eifert now hurt, expect Boyd to continue to see a high level of involvement.Nelson Agholor- Even with Alshon back, Agholor is still a quality fantasy option running out of the slot. That is where the Vikings have been burned so far this season, so look for a potential big game for Agholor.Jordy Nelson- After a slow start to the season Nelson has 8 targets and a TD in each of the last two games. He has a good match-up and should see 7-10 targets this week.Keelan Cole, Dede Westbrook, Donte Moncrief- It’s unlikely all three have good fantasy games, but it’s likely one or two really hit this week. The Chiefs secondary is very beatable and this game could see Jacksonville need to throw the ball 40-50 times. It’s tough to predict which receiver(s) will hit, but they are worth using this week given their upside. Guys to avoid:Larry Fitzgerald- Fitzgerald just can’t get anything going in this new Cardinals offense and he’s less than 100% healthy. Maybe eventually he and Josh Rosen can get something going, but right now you have to avoid him.Corey Davis- Davis is coming off a huge game, but he’s dealing with an injury and it’s likely that the Titans get up big early in this game. If that happens there is no reason why Davis will even be on the field, much less the Titans even trying to throw the ball in the 2nd half.Robbie Anderson- Anderson had a lot of preseason hype, but he’s struggled to get anything going with Sam Darnold. He’s a complete fade at this point and probably a guy you might want to trade in season long for anything of value.Michael Crabtree- Crabtree is really struggling to start the year as he’s had a number of key drops. He’s still getting a decent amount of targets, but if he keeps dropping them expect that to change. This match-up is okay, but if the Ravens get up early the focus could be on the running game.Note: This is a new section so I’ll be testing out some different formats. Let me know in the comments any ideas you might have.

They have added guys like Antonio Brown, Tyrell Williams, JJ Nelson, Ryan Grant, and Hunter Renfrow. That’s not including some of the guys the Raiders added last year like Marcell Ateman and Saeed Blacknall. But Doss is better than several names on that list and as long as he performs well in camp he should be able to carve out a spot on the Raiders. The guy Doss reminds me of the most is Jordy Nelson, and the Raiders could always use a player like that who is still young.Watch Keelan Doss Highlights here A Raiders legend passed away last weekend. Straeter—APA Raiders legend passed away last weekend. Clem Daniels, who played running back for the Raiders from 1961-67 died on Saturday at the age of 83.Daniels, a native of Texas, started his career with the AFL’s Dallas Texans in 1960, but he didn’t see much playing time and was traded to the Raiders after just one season. Despite starting out as a kick returner (averaged over 22 yards per return), Daniels finally got his chance to start at running back during his second season in Oakland. Since that moment, he dominated tallying 8,394 yards from scrimmage and 54 touchdowns in his Raiders’ career.“Until he got hurt, [Daniels] was without question the best complete back in the American Football League,” said former Raiders executive Ron Wolf according to Raiders.com.Daniel’s 5,103 rushing yards places him third on the franchise’s all-time rushing list behind Marcus Allen and Mark Van Eeghen.Daniels earned AFL co-MVP honors in 1963 when he became the first Raider to rush for over 1,000 yards in a season and earned Pro Bowl honors in four straight seasons from 1963-66. Off the field, Daniels was equally as spectacular. He was a notable social-justice advocate in the East Bay and made his mark during the 1965 AFL All-Star game in New Orleans when he played an instrumental role in coordinating a boycott of taxi drivers and restaurants who refused to take African-American customers.

Broncos are clearly planning to “win now” ... right?Mark J. Rebilas-USA TODAY SportsIn Broncoland it seems that every day the gap between those who love John Elway as GM and those who hate him grows wider. Those who hate him claim that any success the team saw from 2012 to 2015 was thanks only to Peyton Manning and the influence he had in bringing in other top free agents. Those who love him claim that he built one of the greatest offenses and greatest defenses of all time in only a matter of a few seasons and are willing to forgive him his (especially recent) faults as a talent evaluator. Of course, as with all things, the truth is undoubtedly somewhere in the middle. Is he the greatest GM of all time? No, probably not. Is he the worst? No, probably not. But still we see the Twittersphere and comment sections boiling to the brim with factions from both sides duking it out over the ineptitude or...eptitude of the Broncos’ current General Manager.I’m personally on team Elway and though I do think he has dug a deep hole for himself and the team the last few years, it’s not something that hasn’t happened a million times to other teams in the NFL and it’s not like there is no light at the end of the tunnel. Of course I could argue my point about Elway being the bomb for a good 3,000 words but I would probably lose half of the readers after the words “I’m team Elway”, so I’ll stick to trying to decipher if this team really is headed in the right direction under the guidance of #7.As everyone and their mother knows by now, the Broncos signed an older but very solid defensive back yesterday - Kareem Jackson - to a contract that seems quite fair in this insane market. Then they went and made Juwan James the highest paid right tackle in the league and spent a huge chunk of their available money in the process. The feelings in the public forumsabout this move are about as varied as those about Elway as G.M and they seem to run along the same lines with the above mentioned factions. For those who hate Elway, any questionable move is, of course, anathema. For those who love him, it’s the greatest signing since PFM. For me, it’s again, somewhere in the middle. He’s a guy with very solid talent and huge upside that fits a need but comes at a cray cray price and could become a bad overpay if he doesn’t progress as a tackle. Since he will have OL whisperer, Mike Munchak, saying sweet nothings into his ear and telling him how good a boy he is, there seems little doubt in the minds of team Elway that he will become the best RT in football. Maybe. Each move the front office has made this offseason indicates that they are in a “win now” or at least a “win soon” mode and that obviously is good news for Broncos’ fans. They re-signed Sanders and Shelby Harris, added a veteran CB and NFL proven RT, hired a grizzled old head coach and traded for Joe Flacco. This in no way looks like a rebuild of any sort. Yay for us....right?Only, the issue is that it’s only good to be in a “win now” mode if you are good enough to...win now. To really succeed in the NFL in 2019 means that you have to have some group or at least a few players that are great. The Broncos have, in my opinion, one great player (Von), one very, very good player (CHJ), one super high potential player (Lindsay) and a good defensive line (Chubb, Wolfe, Harris, Von). Other positions rank anywhere from solid to horrible.Yes, that’s all from my own grading system (which is proven to be about as accurate as PFF by the way) and you may - and most certainly will - disagree with me. Keep in mind though, that I am an Elway apologist. I defend him at nearly every turn and look at him as the GOAT who can practically do no wrong but I still am left incredibly uninspired by this team as it sits right now. This could change in a manner of days with some great F.A additions or in April with a phenomenal draft but it will have to be something off the charts to boost my feeings about the Broncos and “winning now”. It’s rarely that we see a solid or good team win the Super Bowl unless they are led by a HOF QB or coach. Philadelphia a few years back is maybe the best example of a team that had few “greats” but still managed by the sum of their parts to win the trophy. Maybe the Broncos can immitate that team and through gutsy coaching, team effort, a streaky QB and a lot of luck, they can still be playing football in February. Here’s to hoping. (AP) — No, Phillip Lindsay never once thought he’d become the first undrafted offensive player to make the Pro Bowl. He’s been too busy making tacklers miss and general managers regret passing him over in the NFL draft just because he stands 5-foot-8.“I’m an undrafted free agent. To be able to have 100 yards in a game was great. To get a touchdown, to be able to play at (Mile High Stadium), that’s the stuff right there that I dreamt about,” the Denver Broncos‘ rookie running back said Wednesday. “The Pro Bowl is something that you think like five years down the line, three years down the line.”After waiting seven rounds and never hearing his name called or his phone buzz on draft weekend Shannon Sharpe Jersey , Lindsay signed with his hometown Broncos and when he survived cuts after training camp, he sought Hall of Famer Terrell Davis’ blessing to wear his old No. 30 jersey .Yet, Lindsay said he’s been so focused on his next opponent that he didn’t even ponder the possibility of making the Pro Bowl when a couple of Cleveland Browns players told him after their game Saturday night that “our whole linebacker room voted for you for the Pro Bowl.”Excluding special teams players, the only other undrafted rookie to make the Pro Bowl was Dallas Cowboys defensive back Everson Walls in 1981.“That tells you what he’s done,” coach Vance Joseph said. “His first day with us, he was the sixth halfback on the depth chart. The sixth! Obviously, being a rookie free agent. Didn’t go to the combine. Wasn’t drafted. … He came in here just trying to make our football team.”Lindsay started out as a special teams stud and didn’t even start in the backfield until midway through the season.“Now, he’s in the Pro Bowl, so that speaks to his work ethic, his heart and his talent,” Joseph said. “So, it’s amazing what he’s accomplished in such a short time.”Although Lindsay said, “Nobody knew about me when I got here, other than I was little,” teammate Bradley Roby said the veterans sure took notice of him right away.“Very impressive. I know this, when he first got here, OTAs, you kind of feel the rookies out, see how they move. And I always felt that his movement was good,” Roby said. “I was like, ‘This guy’s fast, he’s quick, accelerates.’ I was thinking like if he can run with the pads on, he’s going to be nice.“And he’s done nothing but prove that he’s worth. He should have been drafted, obviously. He’s a gem.”The wild-haired rookie cracked up his teammates during team introductions by saying, “I’m Phillip Lindsay, I’m from Colorado. And I went to Colorado.”Short and sweet.Just like his stride. The first player from the Broncos Futures Football middle school program to sign an NFL contract, Lindsay grew up in Aurora not far from the Broncos headquarters, and starred at Denver South High School and the University of Colorado, where his wild hair and relentless rushing style earned him the nickname “Tasmanian Devil.”Lindsay, who is nine rushing yards shy of 1,000 and whose 5.5-yard average is second in the league, said he’s eager to go to the Pro Bowl with teammate Von Miller, the game’s reigning MVP, and he’s also eager to finally meet Saquon Barkley, the running back from Penn State whom the Giants drafted second overall.Barkley is the only rookie running back who has more yards (1,155) than he does (991), although both have nine touchdown runs.“It’s going to be fun to be able to finally talk to Saquon,” Lindsay said. “We always heard about each other, but we never got to see each other. So, it will be cool to hang out with each other.”Lindsay had hoped to meet Barkley at the NFL combine last spring but he never received an invitation to the league’s annual gathering of top draft hopefuls, a snub that’s driven him all season along with going undrafted two months later.Lindsay said he hopes his remarkable rise will inspire kids everywhere who are overlooked underdogs.“You’ve got to keep pushing, you just never know. You’ve got to keep the faith no matter what,” Lindsay said. “Everybody can take anything from you, but they can’t take your faith. That’s what you’ve got to rely on. You’ve got to go for your dreams.”

Wide receiver JuJu Smith-Schuster shared those thoughts with Ian Rapoport of NFL Media.“In my dream world, I would have Le鈥橵eon Bell at running back with James Conner,” Smith-Schuster said. “I鈥檇 have AB stay on the other side. Let鈥檚 stop all the bulls–t.”There appears to be almost no chance that Bell will be in Pittsburgh as anything but a visiting player in the future.聽There’s a lot more to play out on the Brown front, but Smith-Schuster may have to settle for the Steelers holding onto a new crop of teammates in the future. The Antonio Brown saga appears to be over.According to Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network Benny Snell Pittsburgh Steelers Jersey , the Pittsburgh Steelers are closing in on a deal to ship their soon-to-be former wide receiver to the Buffalo Bills. The Steelers and Brown have been at odds ever since Brown did not play in the final game of the regular season. Brown has expressed frustration over Ben Roethlisberger and what he felt was misplaced criticism by the Steelers’ quarterback.A meeting between Brown and Steelers owner Art Rooney came to the mutual agreement that a trade would be in the best interest of both parties.Whether a trade to Buffalo and a pairing with quarterback Josh Allen is what Brown had in mind remains unclear. In a reply to the official NFL instagram account citing Rapoport’s report, Brown offered a reply of “fake news” with a siren emoji from his verified instagram account. Additionally, Vic Carucci of the cited sources saying the teams had discussed a possible trade for Brown. However, a deal is not imminent and “unlikely.”

During his junior and senior seasons, he started 24 games, and played both left and right tackle during his senior year. His senior year was sufficiently accomplished that he was named Second Team All Mountain West in 2018. His athleticism comps are impressive - approximating guys like Ryan Ramczyk (first round pick), Andrus Peat (first round pick), Orlando Franklin (second round pick), and Mike Adams (second round pick) - but the concern is that his technique and the application of his strength aren’t producing a on-the-field product that matches. To top it all off, Pope was manhandled by Jordan Brailford in the Shrine Game, surrendering a sack, and likely hampering his draft stock.StrengthsPlayed both right and left tackleGreat athleticism NastyRun blockingSizeWeaknessesNeeds to get strongerFootworkPass blockingLet’s see his workHow He Would Fit On The RedskinsPope was a medalist at the Underwear Olympics, but there appears to be a significant gap between his potential and his reality. If there wasn’t, however Vernon Davis Jersey , he would likely be a first or second rounder. So, if scouting staff and Bill Callahan see an opportunity to successfully mold a guy like Pope, he could potentially be a late round or UDFA steal. Pope’s versatility at the line is reminiscent of Geron Christian’s, and if the coaching staff are confident that Christian is making the necessary strides, a player like Pope may be superfluous. On the other hand, Pope’s athleticism may be sufficiently attractive that he could be brought into camp to compete for the swing tackle role outright. Injuries were the theme of the 2018 season along the Washington offensive line.Nine different offensive linemen played at least 200 offensive snaps for the team as they mixed and matched on a weekly basis to fill out the unit. One of the biggest losses was right guard Brandon Scherff, who was lost for the year at midseason to a torn pectoral muscle.Scherff said this week that he feels he is back to about 90 percent and expects to be “ready to go” in time for training camp.“I think it was just a fluke injury,” Scherff said, via the team’s website. “My arm got caught in a weird position, and my pec popped. There’s nothing you can really train for that injury, but it’s all about getting stronger and eating healthier — I’ve been doing that a lot better — and just not worrying about [the injury]. Just going out and playing football.”Washington has to figure out its starting quarterback for the 2019 season, but life will be better for whoever gets that job if the team’s able to field a consistent offensive line this time around.

Especially for a team that finished last season 4-12 with fan confidence at the end of the season below 50%. But this is fans we’re talking about here. And the offseason is eternal hope time. When you have as many holes to fill as the Raiders did coming into this offseason, and when you go about filling them, fans get more and more excited. And let’s be honest, the fans were given some reason to be optimistic. Antonio Brown is a big part of that.As of the end of last season, 45% of Raiders fans were confident in the direction of the team via our FanPulse survey. Following free agency with the trade for Antonio Brown, addition of Trent Brown, Tyrell Williams, and Lamarcus Joyner, the confidence level made its largest leap to 77%. Then it dipped back down again for reasons hard to pinpoint. Perhaps it was not signing any pass rushers; the team’s most glaring need.Following the draft, it jumped back up again to 79%. The draft is the cure-all. Every pick is looked at as the answer to the questions Womens Bo Jackson Jersey , the high picks are instant starters and the low picks are steals. But as much of a jump as 34% is in a few months time for a team that hasn’t played a game, the resulting 79% confidence rate is still middle-of-the-road in the NFL and the lowest in the AFC West. You want to see utterly unrealistic fan support, check out the Broncos fans, whose confidence level at the end of last season was at 28% and is now at 84%; exactly TRIPLE what it was! No team over 75% had a bigger leap. You can see where the biggest jump occurred. It was free agency, when it jumped up to 69%. And what happened in free agency? Joe Flacco happened. That’s all it takes for Broncos fans to lose their minds. Joe. Flacco.Pre-draft, those Broncos fans had a higher confidence level (75%) than Chargers fans (71%). Did I mention the Chargers made the playoffs with twice as many wins as the Broncos (6-10) who are still without a decent starting QB?Both the Chiefs and Chargers finished 12-4 and were playoff teams last season, so their confidence was high and stayed high throughout the offseason. Chargers fans currently have the division’s highest confidence at 88%, up from 76% at the end of last season.Chiefs fans’ confidence actually waned from 94% to 85%. Imagine that. Chiefs fans with their young MVP QB have just a 1% higher confidence level than Broncos fans with.... Joe... Flacco.Ah, the level of bliss that must accompany that much ignorance.Follow @LeviDamien Six days until the draft. This is fine. According to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport, the entire scouting department has been sent home and won’t return for the draft.“They don’t know who to trust” is not a good statement. Especially after reports last year of Gruden having his own scouts and a different draft board than former GM Reggie McKenzie and his scouting department. A report Gruden did not deny outright, but downplayed it saying he has a couple guys who work for the coaches but “it doesn’t intersect with the scouting, it’s a completely different agenda.”That reported divide was thought to have been put in the past with Reggie McKenzie’s firing late last season. Though many in his scouting department remain with the team, including his brother Raleigh McKenzie.Perhaps more details on this will be revealed at some point, but regardless, this is not a positive development with less than a week until the draft with Mike Mayock in his first ever draft as an NFL GM.Update: While not knowing “who to trust” is never a good thing in a draft prep situation, it may not be unusual to clear out the scouting staff at this point.Follow @LeviDamien
